Blood Stains, Trains & Automobiles [12 Jul 2009|05:19pm] sihk_rellik [ mood | f*cking awesome ] [ music | Joe Satriani - "Surfing With The Alien" ] Greetings from Raleigh NC! Had a fantastic time @ Summer Bloodfeast this past Friday in Spartanburg... Ground Zero now has A/C (I shit thee not)... of course doing the MC duties and being in full character, complete with a face full of grease paint and a damn good sized crowd, it had little effect, so it was still pretty hot in there. The bands (Graveyard Blvd & Angels on Acid) were excellent, Psychotic Suspensions & Purgatory Road Show both put on some awesome and rather hardcore performances, and Captain Stab-Tuggo is a fucking maniac! One of the best (and most fun) shows overall that I've got to be a part of in quite some time. Plus with a good turnout, we met our goal and raised plenty of money for the upcoming magazine and everyone got paid! (I put some of the money I made to very good use first & formost buying powerade for myself & xambrius to rehydrate ourselves, did I mention it was hot? haha) (Freaking undead hosts for humid horror parties!?! I'm jsut sayin... It's Ridiculous What I've Set Up Down There!!) Many thanks go out to Shane Trotter, greysonwolf (who did all my stage makeup/FX *and* bought me a cheeseburger & some sweet tea... you're a damn fine man sir), torched2death (who covered my last MC spot when the show ran late & I had to split to catch my train on time), The Graveyard Blvd. (for the CD, buttons, coffin case & T-shirt- I swear if I didnt have friends in bands, I'd have no wardrobe!), Nash Bozard & "Dead Air Radio", Mick & everyone at GZ, and everyone else who came out, showed support helped make all of this possible. You guys rock and you're helping my dreams come true with this horror-mag thingy =) Anyways, (as I sorta mentioned earlier) the show ran a little late, and I had to split to get back to Charlotte, clean myself up (oh yes, I was very bloody), pack my bags, and make it to the train station by 7:00am. I caught a nap for most of the ride and got to Raleigh around 11:30am... caught a rather interesting cab ride (the driver was telling me about he knew Bob Dylan and how streets in Raleigh are named after him and various other folk singers *shrugs*) over to bejipan's place while she was at work, I'm pretty sure she completely lost her mind (in the good way) when she got back home =) Then after about 6 or 7 hours came up missing yesterday (use your imagination), we had a few drinks, ate some Hungry Howies and hung out with some friends well into the wee hours. Good times. *** and Torch... you & TCB both got my ass from 5 hours away... yall niggaz is Troll Masters! *** While I'm up here I'm planning to go out quite a bit, check out (as well as scout) some nightclubs up here, and hopefully get to hang with all my Raleigh/Durham friends. updates updates updates! [03 Jul 2009|03:08pm] sihk_rellik [ mood | sore ] [ music | Brand New- "Sic Transit Gloria" ] Holy Shit! I have got a lot to update on! There's been so much going on lately that I just haven't had time for LJ. Let's see here (to the best of my memory)... -- Went out to catch a good hoor punk show courtesy of The Body Bags last Friday, great show from a really good band... annnd they're going to be playing Summer Bloodfeast next weekend (July 10th) too! -- I had a really good time DJ'ing out at Temptation last Saturday... I'm really digging this whole DJ thing more than I can express, it gives me something to focus on and keeps me busy at events, which I feel is really good for me... and I've gotten a spot spinning Alloy events now, so MAJOR props & thanks are in order for Mr. torched2death for giving me an opportunity to (not call it a) comeback! -- Went down to Myrtle Beach late that night with Cassie & molko_whore and stayed through Tuesday... had a fantastic time and they took great care of me down there. Ate at Dick's Last Resort for the first time which was interesting to say the very least, actually got in the ocean (and yes I have proof!): I Got My Swim Trunks... And My Flippy Floppys! (( Plenty more pictures on the Myspace & Facebook too. )) -- Anyways, due to the fact that I am a super pale vampire on the inside, I got major sunburns that in fact turned into sun poisoning (and as many have pointed out made me a Rock Lobster!). So I spent the last day there laying in the hotel room hating life lol. -- Made it back to Charlotte, had a few meetings, and then last night went out to the Combichrist/Ego Likeness/Dismantled/Julien K concert in Spartanburg @ Ground Zero... had a great time, got some excellent interviews with a lot of the bands for the upcoming magazine, and actually made it home with a great night under my belt. -- Today has been spent getting family business taken care of and getting this set up for the 4th tomorrow. I'm heading out to Cane Creek, NC for my big family get-together. For those of you without plans looking for something to get into- go up to the Blake Hotel and check out the Red White & Blue Fest, it's really something for absolutely everyone and should be a really good time, complete with both daytime & nighttime fun! =) Anyways LOTS coming up this month, but I will save the upcoming schedule for the next entry!
